From the 419 to the Flight Deck: The Toledo Native Now Running NetJets
Let’s say your company just hit it big. You’ve got investors calling, customers pouring in, and now you’re fielding group texts from your business partner about booking a jet for a pitch meeting in Miami.
There’s a good chance that jet? It’s a NetJet.
And the man running the show at NetJets Aviation? He’s from right here in Northwest Ohio.
Meet Patrick Gallagher, the newly appointed President of NetJets Aviation — the world’s largest private jet company and one of the most recognizable names in luxury air travel. He’s not just flying high; he’s flying from roots that run straight through Bowling Green State University and the streets of Toledo.
Gallagher has been in the cockpit of the private aviation industry for over 25 years — metaphorically speaking. His path took him from Jet Aviation to United Airlines, then into the fast-lane world of Marquis Jet Partners, where he played a key role in the company’s acquisition by NetJets. From there, he rose through the ranks at NetJets, leading sales, marketing, and customer experience before taking the helm as President in 2024.
This isn’t your average C-suite exec. Gallagher knows what his clients want before they ask. Under his leadership, NetJets continues to dominate a market that includes billionaires, athletes, CEOs — and yes, maybe a few Northwest Ohioans looking to skip TSA lines.
But for all the hours he’s logged at 40,000 feet, Patrick still keeps his boots on Ohio ground. He earned his degree at BGSU, and despite his role now based in Chicago, it’s clear he carries that Midwestern work ethic and humility with him everywhere.
Toledo Money is all about spotlighting local people doing big things. And Gallagher? He’s not just building a career — he’s flying a legacy.
From the Glass City to global skies, this is what taking off looks like.
P.S. Mr. Gallagher, if you are reading this, we hope to be flying the skies with NetJets one day. Kudos to all you do.

Integrity First | Kevin’s Blueprint for Growth

The Integrity Group | KW Citywide
Kevin Szymczak didn’t become the top-producing agent at Keller Williams Citywide by being the loudest or flashiest. He did it by listening, helping, and staying relentlessly human in an industry that often rewards the opposite.
When we first featured him in The Fourth Dollar, Kevin had just wrapped 2024 as the #1 agent in with over $12.2M in transactions. In 2025, he continues to be a transaction leader at the firm, and he’s doing it while building something bigger: Integrity Home Group—his own team.
The name fits. With 10 years of experience and licenses in both Ohio and Michigan, Kevin has represented first-time buyers and investor landing $40,000 starter homes to local executives dropping seven figures. He’s helped families upgrade, retirees downsize, and newcomers find their footing—all with the same steady, no-pressure approach.
Now, with Integrity Home Group, he’s scaling that mindset. Teaching agents how to build trust, not just pipelines. And in a cynical market, that’s a strategy worth betting on.
If you’re buying, selling, or just want someone who gives a damn—Kevin’s team might be your best move.
💸 Investing in Community | Toledo’s Financial Backbone for Good
Behind Toledo’s biggest wins—from neighborhood revitalization to environmental innovation—there’s a financial engine quietly making it all possible: the Greater Toledo Community Foundation.
According to its 2024 Annual Report, $464 million in charitable giving moved through our region this past year. That’s not a typo. And it didn’t come from one big check—it came from thousands of individuals, families, and businesses who see philanthropy as strategy, not sentiment.
The Foundation itself distributed $24 million in grants in 2024 alone. That money backed initiatives across mental health, eldercare, economic development, environmental projects, and more. One standout: the Overland Solar Array—a project generating clean energy, community investment, and hands-on education opportunities all at once.
And they’re not just writing checks. The Foundation added 49 new fundholders this year, strengthening a donor network that’s built for long-term impact. Their endowment structure and deep nonprofit relationships mean they’re positioned more like a family office for the region’s future—backing nonprofits, growing scholarships, and designing funds that last generations.
This isn’t feel-good fluff. It’s Toledo’s financial backbone for good—highly liquid, community-connected, and built for scale.
Because in a region that’s learning how to bet on itself again, the Greater Toledo Community Foundation is showing us how to play the long game.

Money Snacks
Headlines we are snacking on
The Orchard on Catawba Island is a family-owned, vertically integrated hospitality business blending upscale dining, casual café fare, and agritourism across a 10-acre estate. Nikolai Blumensaadt created this with multiple revenue streams—from USDA prime steak dinners and handcrafted cocktails to wood-fired pizzas, branded farm goods, and live events—the property operates like a hospitality ecosystem. Recent renovations added The COOP cocktail bar and a Farm Stand market, expanding both capacity and customer touchpoints. In-house vineyards, orchards, and beehives support a farm-to-table brand while boosting margins. Seasonal tourism drives peak volume, but its diverse offerings and premium positioning help balance year-round profitability.
Thanks to a $2M gift from alumni Mike and Jan Wilcox, Bowling Green is now the first in the conference with an endowed head coaching position—officially titled the “Mike and Jan Wilcox Head Football Coach.” That title now belongs to none other than Heisman winner Eddie George, who’s traded touchdowns for town halls in BG. While big schools name stadium bricks, BGSU put the name on the headset—a prestige play that locks in funding and makes the Falcons a serious draw for top coaching talent.
Kaufman Engineered Systems just broke ground on a 52,000+ sq. ft. expansion to their already massive HQ. Over the next three years, the family-run firm will add 16 full-time jobs and more than $1M in new payroll to the local economy. Not bad for a 79-year-old company still engineering its next chapter.
